Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Long Term Care

Description

Assist in patient evaluation, treatment planning and treatment implementation, facilitating development and maintenance of the patient's optimum level of independence in age-appropriate daily life tasks.  The COTA actively participates in departmental activities and processes.

Tasks

  • Assist with patient care under the direction of licensed therapy staff.
  • Implement treatment plans and guide patients through exercises.
  • Monitor patient progress and report outcomes to the therapy team.
  • Educate patients and families on therapy goals and home exercises.
  • Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a clean, safe environment.
  • Support patient motivation and encourage active participation.
  • Document care provided and communicate updates with the care team.

Qualifications / Education

  • Current PA Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant license required
  • Healthcare provider CPR certification through the American Heart Association within the first year of hire required
