Description

The Edger Tipple Operator manages the production flow of lumber, blocking, ties, and timbers from the outfeed of the TMT Edger to the lumber grading deck. This individual is also responsible for grading ties and timbers and returning product that does not meet specifications back to the resaw sort station.

Tasks

  • Comply with safety standards and report any observed hazards.
  • Maintain flow of lumber, blocking, ties, and timbers to grading deck.
  • Grade ties and timbers per customer specifications.
  • Return substandard lumber to resaw sort for remanufacturing.
  • Assist lumber inspector with skews and minor repairs.
  • Perform startup, shutdown, and weekly PM equipment inspections.
  • Clean work area, train operators, and report defects to supervisor.

Qualifications / Education

  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
  • Ability to recognize lumber species, grade, and size (width and thickness).
  • Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.
