Description
The Shim Sort Operator manages the production flow of the lumber from the outfeed of the TMT Edger to the Edger Tipple Station.
Tasks
- Comply with safety standards and report any observed hazards.
- Remove shims, edgings, and below-grade product from production.
- Assist TMT Edger and Edger Tipple Operators as needed.
- Support lumber inspector with minor repairs.
- Perform startup, shutdown, and weekly PM equipment inspections.
- Report manufacturing defects to supervisor and clean work areas.
- Train new operators and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Education
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.
