Description
The Planer Operator maintains constant lumber flow to the planer.
Tasks
- Comply with safety standards; report any observed hazards.
- Feed lumber to planer, preventing feed table overcrowding.
- Apply knowledge of lumber cut, size, amount, and grade.
- Perform startup/shutdown and weekly PM equipment inspections.
- Clean and maintain work area and equipment.
- Report manufacturing defects to Dry End Supervisor.
- Train new operators and perform duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Education
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- Confident knowledge of lumber size, grade, and quality.
- Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.
