Description

The Planer Operator maintains constant lumber flow to the planer.

Tasks

  • Comply with safety standards; report any observed hazards.
  • Feed lumber to planer, preventing feed table overcrowding.
  • Apply knowledge of lumber cut, size, amount, and grade.
  • Perform startup/shutdown and weekly PM equipment inspections.
  • Clean and maintain work area and equipment.
  • Report manufacturing defects to Dry End Supervisor.
  • Train new operators and perform duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Education

  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
  • Confident knowledge of lumber size, grade, and quality.
  • Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.
