Description

The Relief Operator serves as a backup operator for all equipment within the sawmill.

Tasks

  • Comply with safety standards; correct or report any observed safety hazards.
  • Operate equipment including resaw, debarker, trimmer, gang saw, forklift, stacker, and headrig.
  • Perform startup/shutdown and weekly PM equipment inspections.
  • Clean and maintain work area and equipment.
  • Report manufacturing defects to supervisor.
  • Train new operators.
  • Maintain waste systems by identifying and clearing clogs in hog, chipper, and conveyors.

Qualifications / Education

  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
  • Ability to proficiently operate all equipment in the sawmill.
  • Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.
