Description
The Maintenance Supervisor supervises maintenance department and boiler department programs, processes, and personnel in a wood products manufacturing facility.
Tasks
- Plan, schedule, and supervise mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs for the facility.
- Lead a safe work environment by training, motivating, and setting safety examples for employees.
- Engage in ongoing education to improve maintenance processes and work procedures.
- Promote communication and teamwork between departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Process employee time and attendance reports; perform duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Lead and mentor maintenance and boiler staff; manage performance per company policies.
- Provide coaching, training, and support to build a high-performing, accountable maintenance team.
Qualifications / Education
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate team members.

- Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills; ability to think creatively and find innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Available at all times as needed to lead repairs of mechanical breakdowns.
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures associated with the above mentioned programs and processes.
- Knowledge of computer and preventative maintenance systems.
- Ability to provide own basic tools.
- Prior experience as a maintenance supervisor or lead in a wood products manufacturing facility, including work on sawmill machinery, steam systems, kilns, boiler, dust collection, and fire prevention systems.
