Description
The Logistics Coordinator is the primary point-person for arranging transportation of truck freight out of the Collins Kane sawmill, and any transportation requested by the commodity trading department. The Logistics Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining and shipping inventory at off-site storage and remanufacturing facilities and for providing administrative support to the sales team
Tasks
- Coordinate lumber shipments and staff to ensure timely delivery and legal shipping compliance.
- Sync with softwood sales and mill shippers to maintain schedules and carrier communication.
- Track and report weekly inventory levels; present updates in weekly sales meetings.
- Maintain accurate supplier, sales, and customer records and profiles.
- Prepare lumber and freight invoices; update vendor and customer information as needed.
- Support logistics optimization with sales and export teams across Collins locations.
- Manage customer communication and assist sales team with inquiries and follow-ups.
Qualifications / Education
- Knowledge of TMX systems; Princeton TMS preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Negotiation abilities.
- Excellent note taking skills and the ability to create handover documentation.
- Ability to act with discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate team members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
- Bachelorās degree in business or a similar field required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified or two (2) years of experience in logistics.
- Relevant industry-related experience preferred.
- Experience utilizing inventory management software preferred.
