Log Sales Supervisor

Description

The Log Sales Supervisor focuses on the sale of veneer, prime, and saw logs. This individual will also supervise the Log Technician.

Tasks

  • Inspect logs for size, defects, and price to maximize sale value.
  • Negotiate log sale prices and prepare invoices; verify payments.
  • Maintain HMT1 tablets, printers, and scaling equipment.
  • Supervise log yard scalers and equipment operators; approve time.
  • Maintain accurate log volume inventories; minimize log degradation.
  • Coordinate log yard maintenance, stonework, road upkeep, and plowing.
  • Lead and mentor Log Technician; manage performance and training.

Qualifications / Education

  • A thorough understanding of hardwood log grades, specifications, and values required.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and negotiating skills are required.
  • The knowledge equivalent to that received through graduation from high school plus additional related coursework in college-level courses. The equivalent knowledge gained through experience is accepted.
  • Prior leadership experience.
