Description
The Kilns Operator operates and maintains the dry kilns.
Tasks
- Comply with safety standards; report any observed hazards promptly.
- Take daily kiln samples to check weight and moisture content of lumber.
- Load and unload kilns; assist with truck loading as needed.
- Perform startup, shutdown, and weekly preventive maintenance inspections.
- Clean and maintain work area and equipment consistently.
- Train new operators and provide ongoing support and guidance.
- Perform additional duties and lead responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications / Education
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.
