Description

The Forestry Technician assists with all aspects of forest land management on the FSC certified, 118 thousand acre Collins Pennsylvania Forest.

Tasks

  • Comply with safety standards and report any observed safety hazards.
  • Perform timber marking, boundary maintenance, and tree planting.
  • Conduct GPS data collection and invasive species treatments.
  • Keep detailed records of all tasks completed.
  • Work independently in remote locations with minimal supervision.
  • Lead and mentor dry end team: planer, kilns, and shipping operations.
  • Manage team performance; provide coaching, training, and support.

Qualifications / Education

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as an effective member of a team.
  • Strong sense of environmental stewardship and willingness to promote the integrity of the company.
  • Basic understanding of maps preferred.
  • Ability to identify forest plants preferred.
  • Ability to keep detailed records and maps.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Associate degree in forestry or a related field, minimum.
  • Field forestry experience preferred.
