Description

The Electrician maintains, repairs, modifies, and installs electrical, instrument, and computer systems in a wood products facility to ensure optimal operations.

Tasks

  • Follow safety rules at all times; report or fix any hazards in the electrical work environment.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and issues during manufacturing processes.
  • Service A.C./D.C. systems, drives, motors, wiring, control devices, and modular assemblies.
  • Apply PLC, HMI, and network knowledge to optimize operations; ensure all work meets code.
  • Train electrician trainees in installs, schematics, theory, math, tools, and trade practices.
  • If Lead, assist with reports, tasks, training, inventory, breaks, and vendor coordination.
  • Perform other assigned duties; reliable on-site attendance is essential for job performance.

Qualifications / Education

  • Associate degree in electrical maintenance and construction technology preferred.
  • One year of experience working as an industrial electrician or be a licensed electrician from states that provide licensing.
  • Have a basic understanding of industrial electrical safety, MCCs, three-phase power, running conduit, lighting, and schematics.
  • Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Provide basic tools to perform routine electrical activities.
