Description
The Electrician maintains, repairs, modifies, and installs electrical, instrument, and computer systems in a wood products facility to ensure optimal operations.
Tasks
- Follow safety rules at all times; report or fix any hazards in the electrical work environment.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and issues during manufacturing processes.
- Service A.C./D.C. systems, drives, motors, wiring, control devices, and modular assemblies.
- Apply PLC, HMI, and network knowledge to optimize operations; ensure all work meets code.
- Train electrician trainees in installs, schematics, theory, math, tools, and trade practices.
- If Lead, assist with reports, tasks, training, inventory, breaks, and vendor coordination.
- Perform other assigned duties; reliable on-site attendance is essential for job performance.
Qualifications / Education
- Associate degree in electrical maintenance and construction technology preferred.
- One year of experience working as an industrial electrician or be a licensed electrician from states that provide licensing.
- Have a basic understanding of industrial electrical safety, MCCs, three-phase power, running conduit, lighting, and schematics.
- Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.
- Provide basic tools to perform routine electrical activities.
