Description
The Electrician maintains, repairs, modifies, and installs electrical, instrument, and computer systems in a wood products facility to ensure optimal operations.
Tasks
- Follow safety standards and report or correct any hazards in the electrical work environment.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems used in the manufacturing process.
- Maintain A.C./D.C. drives, motors, wiring, control devices, and modular control assemblies.
- Use PLCs, HMIs, and network systems to optimize plant operations; ensure code compliance.
- Train electrician trainees in installs, schematics, theory, safety, and tool use.
- If Lead, guide daily work, inventory, breaks, vendor tasks, and act as the process expert.
- Complete other duties as assigned; consistent on-site attendance is essential to the role.
Qualifications / Education
- Associate degree in electrical maintenance and construction technology preferred.
- One year of experience working as an industrial electrician or be a licensed electrician from states that provide licensing.
- Have a basic understanding of industrial electrical safety, MCCs, three-phase power, running conduit, lighting, and schematics.
- Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.
- Provide basic tools to perform routine electrical activities.
