Description

The Debarker Operator operates the debarker to remove bark from logs.

Tasks

  • Always follow safety standards and report or correct any safety hazards in the work environment.
  • Operate the debarker to remove bark efficiently while minimizing wood fiber loss or damage.
  • Perform equipment startup/shutdown checks and complete required weekly PM inspections.
  • Report any manufacturing defects or equipment issues to the supervisor promptly.
  • Clean and maintain the work area and equipment to ensure safety and optimal performance.
  • Train new operators on safe procedures, equipment use, and production expectations.
  • Complete other assigned tasks; reliable on-site attendance is essential to perform all duties.

Qualifications / Education

  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
  • Knowledge of lumber size, grade, and quality preferred.
  • Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.
