Description

The Chipper Operator operates the chipper and keeps the surrounding area clean.

Tasks

  • Comply with safety standards and report or correct any safety hazards in the work area.
  • Monitor chipper operation, respond to metal detector alarms, and check equipment condition.
  • Perform startup/shutdown inspections and complete weekly preventive maintenance checks.
  • Report equipment issues or manufacturing defects to the supervisor immediately.
  • Clean and maintain equipment and work area to ensure safe, smooth operations.
  • Train new operators on safety, procedures, and proper use of equipment.
  • Complete other assigned tasks; reliable on-site attendance is essential to perform duties.

Qualifications / Education

  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
  • Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.
