Description
The Bin Chaser operates the sorter and oversees the bins.
Tasks
- Comply with safety standards and report or correct any hazards observed in the work area.
- Inspect bins for mis-sorted lumber, straighten boards, and document any sorting issues found.
- Drop bins on discharge chains with proper spacing and ensure smooth product flow.
- Perform equipment startup/shutdown checks and complete required weekly PM inspections.
- Clean and maintain equipment and work area to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
- Train new operators in job duties, safety procedures, and proper equipment operation.
- Perform other duties as assigned; consistent on-site attendance is essential to the role.
Qualifications / Education
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- Confident knowledge of lumber size, grade, and quality.
- Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.
