Description
Responsible for greeting and attending to all clients and visitors of the clinic. Duties include answering and routing all incoming calls and messages, entering all appointments into the computer database, and maintaining and coordinating interaction between staff and clients. This position is responsible for the completion and maintenance of all data required for the purpose of financial billing.
Tasks
- Uses rehab principles and recovery approaches to support and empower clients toward their goals.
- Conducts all levels of intake/assessment, building rapport while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Identifies behavioral changes early and provides interventions or referrals as needed.
- Facilitates psychoeducational groups on relapse prevention, stress management, and mental health.
- Educates clients on mental illness, substance abuse, medication regimes, and possible side effects.
- Assists clients in accessing community resources for housing, education, vocational, and finance.
- Maintains accurate documentation per regulatory guidelines of all client and provider interactions.
Qualifications / Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; formal clerical or secretarial skills training program outside of high school
- At least one year of experience as a full-time Secretary 2 or Clerk 2 within the agency or 24 months of full-time (or equivalent) clerical or secretarial experience from outside the agency
