Psychiatrist - Outpatient

Responsible for the delivery of contracted psychiatric services including psychiatric intakes, assessments and evaluations, treatment and medication monitoring, and disposition of inmates within the correctional system. Serves as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and acts as a liaison with other medical disciplines. Ensures that psychiatric treatment services are delivered in a timely, effective, and cost efficient manner.

• Delivers psychiatric services including intakes, assessments, treatment, med monitoring, and disposition.
• Supports and directs psychiatric and behavioral health care; coordinates with institution functions.
• Ensures compliance with Wexford policies, Health Services Bulletins, and correctional regulations.
• Meets regularly with mental health and medical staff to ensure coordinated health service provision.
• Provides consultation to institutional staff on mental health issues as requested.
• Coordinates care to maintain quality and compliance within the correctional facility setting.
• Collaborates with staff to address inmate psychiatric needs and improve behavioral health outcomes.

• Current unrestricted licensure as Medical Physician and Surgeon (MD) or Osteopathic Physician and Surgeon (DO) by State of Pennsylvania, specializing in Psychiatry
• Experience working with individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse disorders preferred
