Part-Time Aide - Addiction Treatment Services

Description

Responsible for assisting the Rehabilitation Coordinators and Therapists in providing the necessary support and information needed to implement each clients’ treatment plan. The incumbent also assists clients with daily activities, medication monitoring, management of daily tasks and providing transportation when needed.

Tasks

  • Uses rehab and recovery principles to support, educate, and empower clients toward their goals.
  • Processes all intake levels; builds rapport with clients while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Identifies behavioral changes and provides appropriate interventions or referrals as needed.
  • Facilitates psychoeducational groups on relapse, stress, anger management, and relaxation skills.
  • Educates clients on mental illness, substance abuse, meds, side effects, and medication interactions.
  • Assists clients in accessing community resources for vocational, financial, housing, and education.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of client and provider interactions, adhering to policies.

Qualifications / Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent, demonstrated written and verbal skills, knowledge of practical self-care skills, ability to deal effectively with persons with mental illness
  • Current PA drivers license and access to a vehicle during work hours
