Description

Responsible for providing psychiatric treatment services to individuals enrolled in the Erie Outpatient Clinic who are diagnosed with serious mental illness and/or substance abuse issues. The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: conducting physical exams and psychiatric evaluations as indicated, assisting with medication management through use of protocols mutually developed with a physician and in accordance with organizational practices and policies, and providing case consultation and other services throughout the organization as needed.

Tasks

  • Uses current medical, nursing, and recovery approaches to provide sound clinical services.
  • Collaborates with staff and nurses to deliver competent medical and clinical client care.
  • Develops and manages collaborative agreements with physicians for med checks and physicals.
  • Conducts thorough psychiatric evaluations; reviews with supervising physician for approval.
  • Performs history, physical, and mental status exams; monitors client changes closely.
  • Documents client progress and updates treatment plans accurately and in detail.
  • Prescribes medications per guidelines; provides medication teaching and health education.

Qualifications / Education

  • Current licensure as Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner by State of Pennsylvania; experience working with individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse disorders preferred.
