Description

The Hardwood Sales Manager represents Collins in an outside sales and technical role with an emphasis on promoting our quality, stewardship, customer service and integrity.

Tasks

  • Research and generate new accounts and follow through on sales leads.
  • Build and maintain rapport with prospects, clients, team members, and other pivotal contacts.
  • Monitor each customer’s performance relative to plans.
  • Establish goals for each customer by product/sub-product.
  • Active management of total cost to customer to ensure best freight/inventory formulas are working for Collins; coordinate as needed with internal staff.
  • Set sales budgets and cost budgets for self and hardwood sales team.
  • Monitor, control and adjust implementation of sales plan in coordination with the Operations team.
  • Understand and communicate the need for strategic, focused marketing and sales.
  • Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
  • On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills; ability to think creatively and find innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • High level of personal integrity and ethical and professional standards.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.

Qualifications / Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience directly related to wood product sales.
