Description

The Accounting Technician provides accounting support to the Collins operations at the Kane, PA location.

Tasks

  • Process incoming log data and register it into log accounting system.
  • Set up new trucker/hauler codes. Process payments to loggers, including bi-monthly payments, special payments, and release payments.
  • Set up contracts in log accounting software. Process changes to contracts.
  • Interface with loggers and truck drivers. Answer questions about payments and rates.
  • Support Log Sales Supervisor with setting up customer codes, sales, contracts, and assist with invoicing.
  • Assist resource department as it relates to contracts: fee lands, private purchase, and USFS.
  • Provide resource department with data as requested.
  • Provide Division Controller with requested log, lumber, and production data.
  • Respond to requests for data from vendors, contractors, corporate, and others.
  • Receive and process tickets for by-products sales.
  • Reconcile petty cash on a monthly basis.
  • Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
  • On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications / Education

  • General understanding of accounting processes.
  • Ability to communicate with vendors, managers, divisional accounting staff, and employees.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • High level of personal integrity and ethical and professional standards.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
  • Associate degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient working with computers and software and proven ability to learn new applications.
