Restorative Nurse Aide

Description

Assist Therapists and nursing personnel in evaluating and identifying restorative nursing needs. Evaluate and implement restorative programs under the direction and supervision of professional therapists and Restorative Nurse. Determine short term, measurable, realistic goals reflective of resident's condition and prognosis, and change as needed and reassess at least monthly.

Tasks

  • Set and update the schedule for the restorative nursing program as needed.
  • Direct CNAs to maintain function after discharge from restorative care.
  • Document daily flow sheets and write weekly notes on resident progress or regression.
  • Report resident responses to restorative care to the Restorative Nurse.
  • Educate and involve family members of residents in restorative services.

Qualifications / Education

  • Must have completed a State-approved training and competency evaluation program.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public.
  • Must be able to relate pertinent information concerning resident’s requests or concerns to Restorative Nursing Supervisor.
  • Must possess a high level of flexibility in regards to changes in job assignments and scheduling.
  • Must possess the ability to determine specific goals, measure progress towards goals and accurately document results of therapeutic interventions on Restorative Services Records.
