Description

Provide nursing care to residents and direct and supervise Licensed Practical Nurses and Nurse Aides. Shall be immediately accessible to all residents and shall be qualified by training and experience to assure prompt, appropriate action in the event of an injury, illness, fire or other emergency. Shall provide basic life support, including initiation of CPR to a resident who experiences cardiac arrest prior to the arrival of Emergency Medical Services based upon the resident’s advance directives or in the absence of advance directives or a DNR order.

Tasks

  • Follow admin directives and care duties per policy and state/federal regulations.
  • Assist DON in overseeing and delivering total care to residents.
  • Help create and implement individualized resident care plans.
  • Administer medications, document usage, and observe resident reactions.
  • Provide physician-ordered treatments and record resident outcomes.

Qualifications / Education

  • Must have successfully completed a State-approved training program and be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice by the Pennsylvania Department of State, Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of aging process, possess the ability to assess the resident’s age-specific needs, and provide the care needed as set forth in Bradford Ecumenical Home policies and procedures.
  • Must possess a high level of flexibility in regards to changes in job assignments and scheduling.
