Description

Responsible for ensuring the general well-being of residents through the delivery of high quality health services in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of personal care and that complies with applicable state laws and regulations. Also responsible for the supervision of Resident Assistants.

Tasks

  • Help hire, train, and supervise staff to deliver high-quality, person-centered care.
  • Schedule Resident Assistants in OnShift to ensure full 24-hour shift coverage.
  • Train new RAs to prepare for the Medication Administration Course.
  • Track staff credentials and ensure timely completion of competency testing.
  • Provide CPR training to RAs upon hire and every two years.
  • Manage resident care: meds, supervision, appointments, and care planning with families.

Qualifications / Education

  • Must be a Pennsylvania Licensed Nurse (RN or LPN); or able to apply for reciprocity.
  • Must complete and pass the American Heart Association or American Red Cross Training Course to obtain certification to teach CPR and Basic First Aid to Resident Assistants and other staff.
  • Must complete and pass the DHS Medication Administration Trainer course, and maintain certification.
  • Must possess a high degree of interpersonal relations’ skills and capability of relating to a variety of people and personalities. Considerable initiative, judgment, and leadership skills are also required.
