Description

Responsible for ensuring the general well-being of residents through the delivery of high quality health services in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of personal care and that complies with applicable state laws and regulations. Also responsible for the management and supervision of the resident assistants.

Tasks

  • Hire, train, supervise, and discipline staff to ensure high-quality, person-centered care.
  • Plan and assign work to ensure 24-hour staffing coverage is maintained.
  • Provide case management and oversee screenings, assessments, and service plans.
  • Orient new residents and support smooth adjustment to the facility and community.
  • Maintain professional relationships and communication with physicians.

Qualifications / Education

  • Must be a Pennsylvania Licensed Nurse (RN or LPN); or able to apply for reciprocity.
  • Must complete and pass the American Heart Association or American Red Cross Training Course to obtain certification to teach CPR and Basic First Aid to Resident Assistants and other staff.
  • Must complete and pass the DPW Medication Administration Trainer course, and maintain certification.
  • Must possess a high degree of interpersonal relations’ skills and capability of relating to a variety of people and personalities. Considerable initiative, judgment, and leadership skills are also required.
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to hire, direct, and manage personnel.
