Description
Provide nursing care to residents under the direction and supervision of a professional registered nurse. Must be immediately accessible to all residents and shall be qualified by training and experience to assure prompt, appropriate action in the event of an injury, illness, fire or other emergency. Provide basic life support, including initiation of CPR to a resident who experiences cardiac arrest prior to the arrival of Emergency Medical Services based upon the resident’s advance directives or in the absence of advance directives or a DNR order and follow proper reporting procedures of suspected abuse.
Tasks
- Follow administrative directives and care duties per facility policies and procedures.
- Support DON and RN in managing total care for residents.
- Help develop and implement written care plans for residents.
- Administer meds as ordered; document and monitor resident reactions.
- Provide physician-ordered treatments; document outcomes accurately.
Qualifications / Education
- Must successfully complete a State- approved training program and be currently licensed to practice by the Pennsylvania Department of State, Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of aging process, possess the ability to assess the resident’s age-specific needs, and provide the care needed as set forth in Bradford Ecumenical Home policies and procedures.
- Must possess a high level of flexibility regarding changes in job assignments and scheduling.
