Description

Provide and maintain information when requested by physician or facility staff engaged in research or study projects. Retrieve charts for examination by physician or other authorized persons.Maintain file of physician visits and notify appropriate physician when resident visit is due and summarize patterns of audit problems and present findings to the Director of Nursing.

Tasks

  • Assist doctors and nurses in locating charts, data, and staff quickly upon request.
  • Greet and assist residents and visitors; refer to appropriate staff as needed.
  • Maintain a professional environment by keeping resident and staff info confidential.
  • Answer phones promptly and relay messages to the appropriate staff.
  • Compile forms and info for appointments; coordinate to ensure residents are ready.

Qualifications / Education

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Secondary Education in Health Information Management preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff, physicians, and outside agencies
  • Computer experience
