Description

Design activities programming for both groups and individuals that provides all residents with opportunities for intellectual, physical and sensory stimulation and social interaction. Arrange for outside entertainment and social organizations to perform and visit. Provide a program of religious activity through ministerial visitations, church services and programs sponsored by various church groups. Provide for resident participation in activities outside of the residential facilities and arrange/provide transportation.

Tasks

  • Interview, orient, assign volunteers by skills and interests, and recognize their contributions.
  • Supervise all activities or instruct volunteers to supervise.
  • Maintain and post up-to-date monthly activity calendars for Bradford Ecumenical Home and CR.
  • Keep daily attendance records for all residents’ participation.
  • Maintain adequate records and progress notes in each medical record as required by law.

Qualifications / Education

  • Qualified Therapeutic Recreations Specialist, a COTA or an OT; or
  • Must have two years of experience in a social or recreational program, within in the last five years, one year of which was full time in a patient activities program in a health care setting.
