Description

Participating in the design of activities programming for both groups and individuals that provides all residents with opportunities for intellectual and physical stimulation and social interaction. Provide input for resources for outside entertainment and social organizations to come to Bradford Ecumenical Home to perform and visit.

Tasks

  • Arrange for resident participation in activities outside Bradford Ecumenical Home.
  • Coordinate, supervise and assign duties to volunteers according to their interests and abilities.
  • Conduct group and individual activities per scheduled activities calendar.
  • Keep daily attendance records for all residents’ participation.
  • Maintain adequate records and progress notes in each medical record as required by law.

Qualifications / Education

  • Experience in working with elderly in recreational programming.
  • Exhibit concern for the elderly and enthusiasm.
  • Be able to motivate residents.
  • Be able to provide input/creative ideas for activity programming.
  • Certification as Activities Director, Recreational Therapy or OTA preferred, but not required.
