Description
The Shipping Lead coordinates all shipments of sold product.
Tasks
- Comply with safety standards at all times and correct/report any observed safety hazards.
- Apply knowledge of grade names, types, and sizes of lumber.
- Check orders against inventory, recognize inventory discrepancies, and work with the Planer Supervisor, the Hardwood Sales Manager, and the Quality Control Inspector to resolve issues.
- Coordinate the shipment and delivery of sold product. Schedule pick up times with trucking service.
- Create BOL for truck shipments. Apply LumberTrack system to:
- Ensure all sales orders are ready.
- Reconcile orders, shipments, and inventory between inventory management software and the lumber yard.
- Ensure effective communication with sales team, brokers, customers, dispatchers, the rail short line, and truck drivers. Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
- On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.
Qualifications / Education
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- Knowledge of grade names, types, and sizes of lumber
- Ability to communicate with management, staff, vendors, and customers.
- Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.
