D&A Treatment Specialist

Description

Actively listen and address client problems through support and guidance in solving problems and identifying healthy behavior. This may be done in individual, group or family counseling on an outpatient basis.

Tasks

  • Evaluate and assess individuals referred to outpatient services to determine treatment needs.
  • Coordinate and recommend clients for residential treatment; provide follow-up for those transitioning.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external referral sources to support client care.
  • Maintain outpatient charts daily by completing necessary forms and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Provide on-the-job training for new employees to develop skills for working with clients.

Qualifications / Education

  • A Bachelor's degree with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in human services) or other behavioral science and two (2) years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency.
