D&A Prevention Specialist

Description

Plans, develops and implements various D&A projects outlined in the prevention unit including the school system, community agencies, and community groups

Tasks

  • Prepare, review, and disseminate ATOD educational materials to promote substance abuse and gambling education.
  • Raise community awareness of available services using various techniques, including the agency website.
  • Represent ADAS, Inc. by interacting with community organizations, councils, and multi-agency teams.
  • Attend health fairs, speaking engagements, and presentations to represent the agency in the community.
  • Consult with Student Assistance Program (SAP) core teams in schools that have implemented programs.
  • Provide educational resources, technical assistance, and referrals for ATOD or gambling-related inquiries.

Qualifications / Education

  • A bachelor's degree in health education, education, the social or behavioral sciences and 1 (one) year of experience in drug and alcohol prevention work.
