Description

Prepares menu and cooks meals for clients in the inpatient facility; functioning as a lead worker by assigning, coordinating, instructing, participating in, and reviewing specialized and routine production tasks and care of kitchen utensils and equipment.

Tasks

  • Prepare monthly and weekly menus, posting them for appropriate staff members in the unit.
  • Participate in the production and cooking of meats, vegetables, casseroles, soups, and sauces.
  • Prepare ingredients and cook menu items for special and modified diets.
  • Prepare special menu items for special meals and meetings.
  • Review census and menu data, adjust recipes accordingly, and recycle leftover food to reduce waste.

Qualifications / Education

  • Experience as a cook in a large volume food preparation operation; or any equivalent combination of experience and/or training. Serve Safe Certification preferred.
