Recovery Assistance Consumer Aide

Description

Provides recovery assistance services to consumers living in the community. These services include transportation to obtain necessities for living such as prescriptions, groceries, and clothing. Provide assistance, when requested from Forest-Warren Human Services, for such tasks as light housekeeping and relocating if necessary. Perform other services as requested by the Beacon Light Adult Services Treatment Team or Forest-Warren Human Services which may not be provided by Blended Case Managers, Peer Support Specialists, or Mobile Medication Staff.

Tasks

  • Document important information and data in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Complete assigned paperwork promptly and according to agency guidelines.
  • Provide support services like transportation and help with tasks not covered by other programs.
  • Follow up on service requests from the treatment team or Forest-Warren Human Services.
  • Maintain regular contact with natural supports to strengthen the consumer's support network.
  • Help consumers find and build relationships with non-mental health community resources.
  • Work a flexible schedule to meet consumer needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications / Education

  • Be a self identified individual who has received or is receiving state priority group services. Have a high school diploma or GED. Two years’ work experience in human services which must include one year of mental health direct care experience or a BA with academic concentration in an area relevant to the position. Completed and passed a Peer Specialist certification training program including written examination, which is offered in accordance with guidelines defined by OMHSAS, DPW is preferred but not required.
