Description

The Stacker Operator operates the stacker to create stacks of lumber according to specifications.

Tasks

  • Comply with safety standards at all times and correct/report any observed safety hazards.
  • Operate the stacker to create quality stacks which allow for the proper drying of lumber.
  • Apply knowledge of lumber’s size.
  • Perform startup and shutdown equipment inspections. Perform weekly PM inspections.
  • Report manufacturing defects to the supervisor.
  • Clean and maintain working area and equipment.
  • Train new operators.
  • Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
  • On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.
  • If lead status is awarded, the individual will act as a functional expert and serve as a point of contact in the area of responsibility; assist the supervisor with daily reports and crew member assignments; provide breaks; and provide training. Additionally, based on the needs of the department/supervisor, leads may be required to maintain inventory levels and coordinate work with vendors and contractors.

Qualifications / Education

  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
  • Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.
