Description
The Security Boiler Operator operates the boiler system and provides security patrol and fire watch by continuously walking the facility during a twelve hour shift.
Tasks
- Comply with safety standards at all times and correct/report any observed safety hazards.
- Maintain security and fire watch throughout the business unit.
- Operate and oversee the boiler, silo, and fire protection systems.
- Perform water treatment tests.
- Clean during idle periods and breakdowns.
- Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
- On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.
- If lead status is awarded, the individual will act as a functional expert and serve as a point of contact in the area of responsibility; perform stormwater reporting; assist the supervisor with daily reports and crew member assignments; provide breaks; and provide training. Additionally, based on the needs of the department/supervisor, leads may be required to maintain inventory levels and coordinate work with vendors and contractors.
Qualifications / Education
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- Ability to work a nonstandard shift and variable hours depending on the needs of the business unit.
- Position serves as relief on holidays, weekends, and to cover vacations.
- Must be available for call-in and for back-up as needed. Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.
