Yard Associate - Load Builder

Uses pick ticket to pre-build loads for customer delivery orders and performs general yard duties such as freight receiving, customer loading, unloading customer returned orders, and general yard housekeeping.

• Prepares delivery orders or loads customers in the yard using Pick tickets.
• Loads delivery vehicles with pre-built orders.
• Unloads, verifies, and stocks incoming freight in designated areas.
• Tags and stores special-order merchandise properly.
• Reports unsafe yard or storage conditions to the Yard Foreman.
• Performs yard housekeeping, leveling lumber, and picking up trash.
• Unloads and returns customer returned merchandise to storage.

• Basic reasoning concepts such as proper and safe loading practices. The person in this position must be able to complete a forklift operator’s certification. Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts in order to calculate order quantities and verification of incoming freight shipments. Knowledge of basic building materials.
