Truss Designer

The Truss Designer will be responsible for creating designs pertaining to roof and floor trusses utilizing Mitek Software to meet the needs of the customer or contractor.

• Evaluate roof and floor designs based on function, materials, budget, and specifications.
• Integrate designs with wall panel layouts.
• Present designs to sales or customers for review and changes.
• Prepare plan drawings for sales representatives.
• Submit final drawings and specs to manufacturing.
• Coordinate follow-ups with sales or customers, resolving issues.
• Prepare or oversee working drawings from sketches and specs.

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred, but not a requirement.  Prior experience in the industry or a general knowledge of the construction is beneficial. The qualified candidate will have excellent customer service skills, strong written and verbal communication habits, as well as meticulous organizational, multitasking and time management skills. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
