Description
The Bin Chaser operates the sorter and oversees the bins.
Tasks
- Comply with safety standards at all times and correct/report any observed safety hazards.
- Inspect bins to detect mis-sorted lumber and document occurrences.
- Ensure that lumber remains straight and resolve any skewed boards. Drop bins onto discharge chains, keeping separation between products. Perform startup and shutdown equipment inspections. Perform weekly PM inspections.
- Clean and maintain working area and equipment.
- Train new operators.
- Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
- On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.
Qualifications / Education
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- Confident knowledge of lumber size, grade, and quality. Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.
