Description

Assists occupational therapists with planning and conducting programs to help patients in regaining physical and mental stability.

Tasks

  • Review medical history and assist in creating personalized health plans.
  • Help assess patients’ mental and physical condition.
  • Monitor patient progress and recommend changes to treatment plans.
  • Recommend home or work modifications to improve daily quality of life.
  • Teach techniques based on occupational therapist’s treatment plan.
  • Educate family and employers on accommodations and patient progress.
  • Ensure a safe and compliant work environment at all times.

Qualifications / Education

  • Graduate of an accredited program approved by The Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)Therapy Association (AOTA) with Associates Degree as an
  • Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Must be a Licensed/Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, issued by the State Board of
  • Occupational Therapy.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Customer/client orientation.
  • Detail oriented and Attentive.
  • Ability to lift/move heavy objects.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Varied activities including sitting, walking, squatting, stooping, lifting, bending, reaching.
  • Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and to lift 100 pounds.
