Description

The Occupational Therapist plans and conducts therapy programs to assist patients in regaining physical and mental stability. Duties will include conducting a physical assessment of clients, developing treatment plans, assessing work and home environments of clients, and developing physical rehabilitation programs.

Tasks

  • Review medical history and create personalized health and wellness plans.
  • Evaluate patients’ physical and/or mental condition and adjust care as needed.
  • Monitor and report patient responses, updating plans when necessary.
  • Support patient rights to treatment and shared decision-making.
  • Recommend home or work adjustments to improve quality of daily life.
  • Educate families or employers on accommodations and progress.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant work environment at all times.

Qualifications / Education

  • Master's degree and state board licensure- top of field, but can gain more certifications through continuing education.
  • Occupational Therapist or eligible
  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Minimum of one year of work experience as an occupational therapist.
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to lift/move heavy objects.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Compassion and patience
  • Problem Solving
  • Varied activities including sitting, walking, squatting, stooping, lifting, bending, reaching.
  • Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and to lift 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to use a variety of equipment including telephone, writing instruments, PC, fax and physical therapy equipment.
