Description
Assure residents are safely transported to appointment facilities using the Lutheran Home at Kane facility vehicles.
Tasks
- Perform housekeeping, laundry, and floor care duties as assigned per job descriptions.
- Schedule and coordinate resident appointments, and communicate transport needs to staff.
- Safely transport residents, ensuring they are dressed appropriately and properly secured in vehicles.
- Maintain transport logs, time sheets, and follow all documentation procedures for payroll and compliance.
- Communicate with residents and staff respectfully; follow radio/music and smoking policies.
- Drive cautiously, follow traffic laws, fuel vehicles properly, and submit gas receipts as required.
- Report vehicle issues to maintenance and demonstrate ongoing competency in van/lift operation.
Qualifications / Education
- Must be willing to possess knowledge of and comply with regulations, policies, procedures, contracts and the philosophy of the Lutheran Home at Kane.
- Must maintain courteous and professional manner toward residents, visitors, co-workers and employees at appointment facilities.
- Must have a dedication to meet the needs of the elderly.
- Must have awareness of cost containment, utilize time fully and properly care for equipment.
- Must be able to complete assignments in a time-structured manner.
- Must possess the ability to follow written and verbal directives.
- Must be able to read and write in English.
- Must have knowledge of principles of good body mechanics.
