Description

Under the direction of the House Supervisor, the RN/LPN Wing Supervisor carries out the medical plan of care and oversees the Nursing Assistants' care of residents to insure that resident care is carried out in accordance with good nursing practice and applicable State and Federal regulations.

Tasks

  • Administer meds and treatments, monitor resident responses, and complete accurate documentation.
  • Update and implement care plans, complete summaries, and communicate changes to the care team.
  • Transcribe physician orders, assist with rounds, collect specimens, and manage resident transfers.
  • Supervise and support CNAs, monitor documentation, adjust assignments, and assist as needed.
  • Handle post-mortem care, narcotic counts, daily reports, incident documentation, and safety issues.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area; stock supplies, submit maintenance requests, and manage belongings.
  • Attend meetings, staff trainings, QA activities, and orient new staff while promoting policy compliance.

Qualifications / Education

  • Must possess a current license in PA or a temporary work permit
  • Must possess knowledge of: medical asepsis, body mechanics, personal care of residents, correct use and care of equipment, observation techniques, reporting and recording, thorough knowledge of nursing theory and its application
  • Must be willing to possess knowledge of and comply with regulations, policies, procedures, contracts and philosophy of the institution
  • Must maintain a courteous and professional manner toward residents, visitors and co-workers and a dedication to meet the needs of the elderly
  • Must have awareness of cost containment, utilize time fully, and properly care for equipment
  • Must possess ability to accept and follow written and verbal directives
  • Must utilize good communication and observation skills
