Restorative Nursing Assistant

Under the supervision of Comprehensive Care Coordinators and RA Supervisor, the Restorative Nursing Assistant participates in an active program of restorative care directed toward assisting patients to achieve and maintain optimal level of self care and independence and provides transportation for medical appointments.

• Implement restorative care plans, including ROM, ambulation, splints, and feeding re-training.
• Provide ADL support such as hygiene, toileting, mobility, transfers, and brace application.
• Feed residents, encourage activity attendance, and record food intake and resident participation.
• Monitor and report condition changes, and keep up-to-date on resident status and needs.
• Maintain and adjust equipment, assist with transports, and collect specimens as ordered.
• Complete required charting and keep treatment and visit logs accurate and up to date.
• Follow infection control measures and attend required meetings, trainings, and conferences.

• Must be certified by the State of PA or be enrolled in a state approved training program
• Must possess knowledge of: medical asepsis, body mechanics, personal care of residents, correct use and care of equipment, observation techniques, reporting and recording
• Must be willing to possess knowledge of an comply with regulations, policies, procedures, contract and philosophy of the institution
• Must maintain a courteous and professional manner toward residents, visitors and co-workers and a dedication to meet the needs of the elderly
• Must have awareness of cost containment, utilize time fully, and properly care for equipment
• Must possess ability to accept and follow written and verbal directives
• Must utilize good communication and observation skills
• Must be able to read and write
• Must have current PA driver's license
