Description

Maintain a safe, clean, attractive, home-like environment for residents, families and staff. To transport residents safely to outside medical facilities and to assure all areas are adequately stocked with needed supplies.

Tasks

  • Perform transport, housekeeping, and laundry duties as outlined in related job descriptions.
  • Complete floor care tasks including mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and carpet extraction as assigned.
  • Clean, move, and disinfect furniture, equipment, tubs, carts, and dining room areas as needed.
  • Maintain neat storage areas, manage inventory, and deliver or label supplies and laundry items.
  • Assist with outside maintenance, spring cleaning, and preparing rooms for admissions.
  • Document tasks, report hazards, follow safety protocols, and train new employees as directed.
  • Attend required meetings and support QA projects and operational improvement efforts.

Qualifications / Education

  • Must be willing to possess knowledge of and comply with regulations, policies, procedures, contracts and philosophies of the institution
  • Must maintain a courteous and professional manner toward residents, visitors and co-workers and out side agencies with and a dedication to meet the needs of the elderly
  • Must have awareness of cost containment, utilize time fully and properly care for equipment
  • Must possess ability to accept and follow written and verbal directives
  • Must be a self-starter with initiative to complete multiple tasks and manage interruptions throughout the workday
  • Must utilize good communication and observation skills to communicate to all departments and outside agencies
  • Must utilize courteous and professional telephone skills and customer service skills
  • Must be able to read and write primarily the English language
  • Knowledge of principles of good body mechanics
  • Must maintain a valid Pennsylvania Drivers license with the ability to maintain a driving record acceptable to the facility and the facility’s insurance company and to demonstrate competency on an ongoing basis.
  • Must have basic ability to add and subtract or use a calculator
  • Must be able to perform operations with simple units of measure
  • Must be able to work all shifts with no shift restrictions
