Description

Maintain a safe, clean, attractive, home-like environment for residents, families and staff at the Nursing Home, Residential Care Center, Cottages/ Independent Living, Garage, Day Care (only on purchase basis), staff use areas and outside and around the grounds of the entire facility and any buildings owned or operated by the facility. Keep the entire facility and any buildings owned or operated by the facility odor and dust free and assure that curtains and drapes hang properly, mats are straightened and carpets are swept and free of debris and straighten furniture.

Tasks

  • Complete and sign daily documentation of duties for quality assurance compliance.
  • Clean floors, carpets, and facility surfaces following procedures, including mop water protocol.
  • Perform housekeeping, laundry, and floor care duties in all facility and independent living areas.
  • Sanitize resident rooms after discharge or death, and clean toilets, sinks, and fixtures facility-wide.
  • Stock supplies, refill chemical containers, clean and restock maid carts and equipment.
  • Wash windows, walls, furniture, fixtures, and maintain cleanliness of lounge and conference areas.
  • Remove trash, disinfect tubs and waste cans, wash curtains/drapes, and care for facility plants.

Qualifications / Education

  • Must be willing to possess continuing knowledge of and comply with regulations, policies, procedures, contracts and philosophy of the institution.
  • Must maintain a courteous and professional manner toward residents, visitors and co-workers and a dedication to meet the needs of the elderly.
  • Must demonstrate competency on an ongoing basis.
  • Must have awareness of cost containment, utilize time fully, and properly care for equipment.
  • Must possess ability to accept and follow written and verbal directives and ability to remember assigned duties.
  • Must utilize good communication and observation skills.
  • Must be able to read and write primarily in the English language.
  • Must have knowledge of principles of good body mechanics.
  • Must have basic ability to add and subtract or use a calculator.
  • Must be able to perform operations with simple units of measure
  • Must be able to utilize simple computer skills for online training
