Description
Assist with meal preparation and serving meals to all residents, visitors and staff.
Tasks
- Monitor changes in resident diets or assignments and assist with food and beverage preparation.
- Serve meals and beverages to residents, visitors, and staff; support cook as needed.
- Clear and sanitize dining areas, reset tables, and assist with dishwashing duties.
- Complete cleaning assignments, maintain equipment, and report any safety hazards.
- Stock dining rooms, carts, and kitchen areas; keep storage spaces clean and organized.
- Update supply charts and maintain inventory control by stocking and rotating supplies.
- Attend meetings, complete QA tasks, and participate in required trainings and in-services.
Qualifications / Education
- Must be willing to possess knowledge of and comply with regulations, policies, procedures, contract and philosophy of the institution
- Must maintain a courteous and professional manner toward residents, visitors and co-workers and a dedication to meet the needs of the elderly
- Must have awareness of cost containment, utilize time fully, and properly care for equipment
- Must possess ability to accept and follow written and verbal directives
- Must utilize good communication and observation skills
- Must be able to read and write
