Description

Supervises the food service program, implements and monitors dietary department policies, procedures and functions in accordance with approved program of food services. Monitors food preparation and food services to best meet nutritional needs of the resident.

Tasks

  • Supervises food service program; implements and monitors dietary policies and functions.
  • Monitors food preparation and services to meet residents’ nutritional needs effectively.

Qualifications / Education

  • Must meet one of the following requirements: be a dietician; be a graduate of a dietetic technician or dietetic assistant training program, correspondence course or classroom course approved by the American Dietetic Association; be a member of the American Dietetic Association or the Dietary Managers Association
  • Graduate of a state approved course that provided ninety (90) or more hours of classroom instruction in food service supervision and have experience as a supervisor in a health care institution with consultation from a dietician; or,
  • Baccalaureate degree from a state approved or accredited college or university and have at least twelve (12) credit hours in food service, nutrition or diet therapy and at least one (1) year of supervisory experience in the dietary department of a health care facility
