Description

Responsible for the keeping the Facility healthful, clean and presentable at all times. The work is performed under general supervisor of the Administrator/Executive Director. General supervision is exercised over the work of operations support employees in Housekeeping and Laundry Departments.

Tasks

  • Directs Housekeeping, Service Assistants, Laundry staff; assists supervisors with problem resolution.
  • Interviews, hires, disciplines, evaluates Environmental Services employees.
  • Oversees scheduling for 7-3 and 3-11 shifts; conducts facility audits and inspections.
  • Develops training programs; recommends improvements; oversees technical workforce.
  • Prepares budget, requisitions, tests housekeeping products, coordinates with other departments.
  • Participates in committees: Quality Assurance, Infection Control, Fire/Safety; enforces safety rules.
  • Manages stress, champions projects, works flexible hours, and serves on Manager on Duty rotation.

Qualifications / Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in institutional Housekeeping and/or Laundry activities, including considerable supervisory experience.
