Social Services Director

Address and track the psycho-social needs of residents Assure the delivery of and documentation of social services congruent with current regulations Directs the Social Service staff in facilitating delivery of services and advocating resident rights. Provide coordination and oversight of the facility psychiatric therapy and counseling services.

• Hires, orients, assigns, and supervises Social Service staff and social worker assistants.
• Develops and maintains Social Service policies per licensing and regulatory standards.
• Ensures Social Service program compliance with all relevant licensing agency standards.
• Facilitates resident programs like Resident Council, voting, family groups, and shopping day.
• Provides counseling and education to residents, promoting conflict resolution and support.
• Conducts department meetings, sets staff goals, and completes performance evaluations.
• Manages social work intern programs and represents facility in community and professional groups.

• LSW or MSW preferred/or B.S.W. or B.S./B.A. in Social Work; or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years experience in long-term care or other health care setting.
